Resident Artist Program
CALL FOR FRESH CREATIVES TO ENTER THE BOXJELLY+FISHCAKE RESIDENT ARTIST PROGRAM
Commence the search. BoxJelly + fishcake are now accepting applications for their ongoing Resident Artist Program. This program continues after the successful term completion of BoxJelly’s first RA, Amelia Samari, and current residency of multi-medium local artist, Laurie Sumiye.
Each year, the Fall term begins on October 1, with a completion date of March 31. The Fall application period closes on August 15. Selections are announced on August 31.
Winter term begins on January 1, with a completion date of June 30. The Winter application period closes on November 15. Selections are announced on November 30.
Summer term begins on June 1, with a completion date of November 30. The Fall application period closes on April 15. Selections are announced on April 30.
During this six-month period, artists are given the time and space to further develop their talents. We are eager to provide space, mentorship, and commercial workspace utilities to our chosen Residents. The end-of-term is celebrated with a solo exhibition at the BoxJelly with a public invitation to the community and media. Our space provides as an optimal showroom for many different types of work; the artists’ work will be displayed for months after the exhibition.
At this point in time, the BoxJelly + fishcake residency does not offer any monetary supplement to the Resident’s project. This program is an ideal fit for the emerging, transitioning, or transient artist that is in need of a vibrant, positive, and motivating environment.
PHOTOGRAPHERS, 2D PRINT ARTISTS, SMALL DESIGNERS, DIGITAL CREATIVES, ETC. HOLD PREFERENCE FOR THE UPCOMING WINTER TERM DUE TO LIMITED SPACE.
