call for artist resident

Call for BoxJelly/fishcake Resident Artist

Commence the search. BoxJelly is now accepting applications for a fall-term Resident Artist. This program continues after the successful term completion of BoxJelly’s first RA, Amelia Samari.

The Fall term will begin on October 1, 2016, with a completion date of March 31, 2017, after a six-month residency. During this six-month period, artists are given the time and space to further develop their talents.

Submissions are to include:

• The attached application form
• Project proposal: 1-2 pages in length, outlining a plan to create a work of art (or a body of work) to display in the space. Include a detailed list of techniques and materials, outlining project logistics, supply and labor needs, and budgeting
• Current résumé
• digital zip file containing 5-10 samples of your most recent work with an inventory sheet
• Artist statement
• Other supportive material (optional)

This submission period will close on August 17, 2016, but BoxJelly offers three residency spots per year. Applications are accepted year round, with closing dates of November 15 (Winter term: January 1-June 30) and April 15 (Summer term: June 1-October 31).
